Shall we fall in love with one another once more?
Shall you hold my head to your pale and soft breast?
These days are long and weary and I know not what travels in the wind. Be it change, disease, or something else.
So let me rest my head against you and forget my troubles for awhile. Your skin embraces me like death and she is beautiful.
I ache no more when next to you. Worry is a ghost and your presence sends it away, shrinking and shrieking. I’ve longed and waited and I brought worlds together, just to know your touch, to become familiar with it. I’ve known no home like the one I knew with you. I ache a little less knowing that for a time, we shared in a mortal’s perfection. So I laid my head against you and let myself drift silently.
The tranquility of an ideal and the sanctuary of one another.
