Increasing our deeds in the first 10 days of Zhul Hijjah.
We’re just around the corner from the greatest days of the year. This is your golden chance to pile up good deeds for Judgment Day, raise your status in this life and the next, and get closer to Allah.
Prove how much you desire Jannah.
Don’t miss out on the rewards of these 10 days. Whether it's a small or big deed, don’t let anything—no matter how insignificant or difficult it may seem—stop you from doing it.
THIS IS YOUR MOMENT, DON’T LET IT SLIP AWAY.
The Prophet (peace & blessings be upon him) said:
“There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.”
They asked: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?” He replied: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, unless a man goes out for jihad taking his wealth and returns with nothing.”
- Al - Bukhari.
The Prophet (peace & blessings be upon him) also said:
“There are no days greater before Allah or in which good deeds are more beloved to Him, than these ten days, so recite a great deal of tahleel (La ilaha illallah), takbeer (Allahu Akbar) and tahmeed (Alhamdulillah) during them.”
- Ahmad.
Don't forget to prepare your daily checklist.
In Shaa Allah, let's kick off these 10 days with sincere repentance. Here are a few rewarding deeds to do in these amazing days:
- Fasting for the first 9 days.
The Prophet (peace & blessings be upon him) said:
“Whoever fasts a day in the way of Allah, Allah will move his face away from the Hellfire by a distance of seventy years.”
- Al-Bukhari & Muslim.
- Increasing your daily Quran reading.
Strive to recite, memorize, listen, understand & contemplate the Quran to multiply your reward.
Reading 3 parts (ju'z) each day will help you complete the Quran by the 10th day.
- Remembering Allah much.
These are the days of Dhikr. Increase in saying tahleel (La ilaha illallah), takbeer (Allahu Akbar) and tahmeed (Alhamdulillah) as advised by the Prophet (peace & blessings be upon him), along with other beautiful dhikrs like Istighfar (seeking forgiveness) and sending prayers on the Prophet (peace be upon him).
- Being extra good to parents.
The reward for showing respect and love towards our parents is immense. Imagine the reward of doing so in these beloved 10 days.
- Praying voluntary prayers. Don’t miss out on as many voluntary prayers as you can. Options include:
- 12 rakats sunnah prayers (2 before Fajr, 4 before Duhr & 2 after, 2 after Maghrib, and 2 after Isha).
- Night Prayers, which are the best of prayers after the obligatory ones.
- Duha Prayers.
- Making lots of Du'a (supplications) especially on the Day of Arafah.
- Breaking someone’s fast to obtain the same reward as the fasting person.
- Maintaining family ties and visiting the sick, both of which hold massive rewards.
- Giving daily charity, even if it’s a small amount.
- Feeding the poor.
- Offering a sacrifice on the 10th day, which is one of the best deeds to do in these 10 days.
May Allah grant us sincerity and accept our deeds in these 10 days.
And don't forget me in your prayers.
#Abdullah
